Born April 8th, 1991, Jordan Ormsby, best known as JiMMY B, is one of Toronto’s brightest aspiring emcees. Hailing from Scarborough, JiMMY B was raised by a single mother, and is the eldest of two siblings. At a young age, JiMMY B endured hardships that influenced him to mature well beyond his years. These obstacles have shaped the person and artist he is today.
JiMMY B sets himself apart from his peers by turning limitations into opportunities. In November 2012, JiMMY B released his debut mixtape JiMMY Eats World. Letting the music speak for itself, JiMMY B’s genuine lyrics and humble persona is a refreshing sound that embodies his generation.
In May 2013, JiMMY B signed to SmashMouth Music Group and re-released JiMMY Eats World (Redux). Since then JiMMY B has toured extensively throughout eastern Canada alongside artists such as Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, Joey Bada$$, Travi$ Scott, Flashbush ZOMBIES, Mr. MFN, eXquire, Doley Bernays and ForteBowie. On November 28th, 2013, JiMMY released his debut EP, L.O.R.D.S (Life Only Respects Da Successful). Guest appearances include Rich Kidd, Dee Goodz, Denzil Porter, Dillan Ponders and more.
In October 2014, JiMMY B supported Top Dawg Entertainment’s Ab-Soul on the eastern Canadian portion of his 'These Days Tour’. JiMMY B continues to promote his sophomore LP, Prince of The 'Borough: Ch. 1 – The BRiCKZ, which released July 7, 2015, including the critically acclaimed singles SCARBOROUGH & Olde English. Following a breakout 2015 campaign which saw JiMMY tour alongside the likes of Post Malone & Dom Kennedy, as well as spotlight press features on VICE, NOISEY and World Star Hip Hop, 2016 looks to be the year JiMMY B solidifies his place amongst the emerging class of future heavyweights.
